Wedding Mass at St Gabriel The Archangel Catholic Church

I love photographing wedding masses, and though the light can be challenging, there is so much beauty inside Catholic churches, particularly St Gabriel The Archangel Parish in Colorado Springs. TheaMarie reached out to me because I had photographed her close friend’s wedding and she loved the photographs and how I interacted with the couple and guests throughout the day. She and Manuel were planning a small wedding at a parish in Colorado Springs, followed by an early afternoon reception at the Colorado Springs Marriott Hotel.

Wedding Mass

Manuel took time before the mass to pray in the sanctuary in preparation. Following this, he processed in with his mother, and she just beamed with joy for her son. After the bridal party, TheaMarie switched up tradition a bit and processed in with both of her parents.

The couple chose people important to them for the readings and the prayers of the faithful. The maid of honor, a talented vocalist, even cantored!

The couple chose Manuel’s aunt and uncle to bring up the gifts. We captured some beautiful photos of the solemnity of sharing the eucharist as they begin their journey as husband and wife.

Additionally, bride and groom made their vows, exchanged rings, offered flowers to Mary, and kissed as husband and wife!

The front of the church serves as a great place for some formal family and bridal party portraits so we spent a short bit of time capturing a few of those before heading off to the reception. And we made sure to snap a photo of the couple with the statue of St Gabriel the Archangel outside. It was truly such a moving, meaningful ceremony and an honor to witness the union of TheaMarie and Manuel!
