Winter Bridal Party Portraits in Colorado Springs

It can be a challenge to find a location for winter bridal party portraits in a place like Colorado Springs. It could be 2 degrees and snowing or 50 degrees and sunny! It’s always best to have an indoor option as a back up. Thankfully on Eva and Daniel’s early January wedding day, it was 55 degrees and perfect for outdoor portraits.

The bridal party headed up to the grounds of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for portraits. The back of the campus has some walking paths and a beautiful view of the foothills. A completely underrated photo location!

We started off with bridal party portraits. Eva and Daniel only wanted a few of the whole group and photos with each individual in the bridal party. Then we spent 20-30 minutes on bride and groom portraits and got so many beautiful ones. The winter golden hour has its own magical lighting.

I love to photograph weddings in all seasons, and rest assured, I always have an indoor back up plan just in case. But I love to make outdoor portraits work if possible because the lighting and scenery here in Colorado is gorgeous all times of year.
