After their beautiful wedding ceremony (see previous blog post!), TheaMarie and Manuel chose to have a reception with their friends and family at the Colorado Springs Marriott Hotel. Instead of an indoor event room, they opted for the outdoor event tent and the weather was warm and sunny on this October afternoon.

Behind the Marriott Hotel is this little hill with great views of Pikes Peak. The bride and groom opted for some portraits on the hill and invited friends up in groups to capture pictures with all their guests. It was clear how much they cared for the people there and wanted to prioritize them in the celebration. The view of Pikes Peak and the foothills, and also some golden aspen leaves were both beautiful back drops for some of the portraits.

The guest book was a handmade paper tree where guests signed the leaves. So cute! There were some tender speeches during the meal and then the dance floor got started with TheaMarie and Manuel dancing merengue for their first dance.

I did not expect the dance floor at an afternoon reception to be hopping, but when the groom’s family is from Peru and loves to dance, they’ll dance at any time of day! We captured some amazing dance floor images that really showcase what a good party it was.
